Other Conditions: Extramural funds. Appointment to begin approximately June 2024 or soon thereafter. Renewal contingent upon availability of funds, program needs, and satisfactory performance.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of Principal Investigator and evaluator, provide support for a research project relating to improving postsecondary outcomes for students with disabilities and Native Hawaiian students and Pacific islanders. Specifically, duties will include:
    • Assist with data entry and database management;
    • Assist with data collection, including surveys, focus groups, and field observations;
    • Create presentation and promotional material (physical and digital) for conference presentations, newsletters, and websites; 
    • Analyze quantitative data using basic statistical methods (e.g., means, standard deviations, t-tests);
    • Create tables and figures based on quantitative data findings;
    • Draft plain language summaries of quantitative and qualitative findings;
    • Assist with project reports, abstracts, conference presentations, and manuscripts for submission;
    • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Classified graduate status in good academic standing (minimum 3.0 GPA) at the University of Hawaii Manoa. 
  2. Experience with quantitative methods and/or qualitative research methods.
  3. Experience with statistical software.
  4. Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Zoom)
  5. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
 
Desirable Qualifications:
  1. Experience working in a postsecondary education setting or programs involving Native Hawaiian and Pacific-island communities.
  2. Experience in research project coordination, research methodology, survey development, manuscript/grant proposal preparation.
  3. Experience or training related to educational evaluation.
  4. Self-directed.
  5. Access to reliable transportation to visit project sites on Oahu as needed.
  6. Documented work-place skills including reliability, responsibility, care in following directions, interest in learning new skills, and ability to work independently.
